There are two types of Water Ring Vacuum Pumps.  Single Stage Water Ring Vacuum Pumps and Double Stage Water Ring Vacuum Pumps.

Water Ring Vacuum Pumps and Compressors, Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump, Tri Disc Refiners, Water-Ring Vacuum Pumps Compressors are used for pumping compressed air or other gases, especially gases containing a large amount of water steam.  The pumps are also applicable to pumping corrosive gases. The applications of water ring vacuum pumps include vacuum dehydration in the chemical, plastic and leather industries, and pre-pumping for the Roots vacuum system. Water ring vacuum pumps and compressors are widely used for machinery,petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, sugar-making and electronic industries.

Water ring type Rotary Machines are principally used as vacuum pumps.  However they can also function as compressors in specific cases. They are simple and trouble free in operation .They are good at handling moist air as well as aggressive gases provided the material of construction is properly selected .  Gases containing dust can also be handled without problem.
